The 190FT is a great popper for catching GTs and other surface feeding fish. We have used this popper at Bugatti Reef with great success, with some anglers refusing to use any other popper. The thing with the Splasher design is that it is so easy to work the popper, and it still catches fish without making a huge splash, and without hurting the angler as much. You DO NOT need to "rip' this popper fast and hard, it is best used with very short and subtle twitches, just a short and fast twitch of the rod repeated quickly will have this popper working like a champion. The foam filled design, and internal paint system means that these lures are super tough, and will not lose their coloured finish, they even stand up to barracuda teeth with ease. One of these poppers caught 29 GTs over 5 days at Bugatti Reef while on test in 2009. We would reccomend changing the trebles to use a 7/0 shout Kudako hook on the belly and tail. We have also used a head rigged 9/0 jobu on an assist cord to great effect with these lures. Effortlessly the splasher will pop and throw water with the softest of twitches from the rod tip. A firm blow will cause the bait to chug and move water making its irritable presence noticeable in the roughest conditions. The special keel on of the splasher causes the lure to lurch side to side in a zig zag motion with rhythmic pops of the rod tip. The splasher is extremely versatile under all conditions.
